Foundation Failures

By their very nature, foundations exert influence on every part of a building’s structure. Foundation failures can result in a wide range of problems including structural failure; roofing leaks and other building envelope problems; plumbing supply and drainage line leaks; cracking of sheetrock, tile on floors and walls and masonry chimneys; and buckling of wood flooring. Foundation problems can also create sources for water intrusion, leading to a litany of other problems within the structure.

Foundation problems are a source of a significant number of claims. Rimkus' experts have analyzed thousands of these claims to determine their cause and, where appropriate, to recommend remedial steps to correct those problems.

Our investigations have included review of design and construction techniques, soil analysis, man-made and naturally occurring seismic activity, and sinkholes.

Our experts have been called upon to make determinations as to what caused the damage and whether the damage was the result of some recent event. When needed, they also appear as expert forensic witnesses to describe their findings before a court of law or an arbitration panel. Let our extensive experience help with your problem.
