October 24, 2014 - Richmond, VA

Top 10 Failures – Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP)will be presented by Jeffrey H. Peters, PE, LEED® AP, BD+C, MAC, CEICC, CSDS, Vice President who leads the Rimkus National MEP Practice Group. Mr. Peters will educate the participants on the most common types of failures of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in buildings today. Mr. Peters will present multiple case studies and review techniques for evaluating MEP losses, such as identifying potential responsible parties, assessing repairs versus replacement, and preparing costs estimates for various repair options. Mr. Peters’ expertise includes the origin and cause analysis of building damage that can arise from design errors, construction defects, product failures, and operational claims involving mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, steam, medical gases, irrigation, building systems, and building envelopes. His expertise also encompasses indoor air quality, fungal contamination, Legionella, Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF), carbon monoxide, soot, and water/vapor intrusion through building envelopes.

Live Burn Seminar
November 12, 2014 - Hattiesburg, MS

Fire Origin and Cause Investigation and Live Burn Demonstration, will be presented by consulting experts with the Rimkus Fire Practice Group. This seven hour seminar reviews the NFPA's 921 "Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations," and includes a live burn training and demonstration which will detail fire development, fire pattern recognition, and fire origin and cause investigations. The course will conclude with a walk through and investigation of the structure and vehicle fires, followed by a debriefing by a Rimkus fire investigator.
