Twelve States Impacted by Massive November Storm System
Tornadoes and Straight-Line Winds Damage Property and Cause Power Outages
HOUSTON, TX - An unusually large and powerful storm front swept through the Central states, spawning tornadoes, damaging winds and hail as it moved eastward at approximately 60 miles per hour. Although Illinois appears to have been hardest hit by tornadoes, severe damage from the storm has been reported in Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Nearly 700,000 people were reported to be without power after the storm. The storm system left a wake of destroyed and damaged homes, businesses and vehicles. In the hardest hit areas, entire subdivisions were leveled.
